Breaking Down Barriers – Workplace Equity & Inclusion

Breaking Down Barriers is a workplace training initiative designed to help organizations create stronger, safer, and more inclusive workplaces—especially in male‑populated industries. The program supports women and all employees by improving workplace culture, communication, and organizational practices.

The program is led by the Sudbury Women’s Centre (SWC), which has a long history of supporting individuals and families in our community. This initiative focuses on advancing workplace equity and inclusion so that women and all employees can thrive.

Core Focus Areas

The program is built around three key pillars:

  • Break Barriers – Address systemic and cultural barriers that impact women in male‑dominated workplaces. Training focuses on empathy, communication, accountability, and employee well‑being.
  • Build Bridges – Strengthen connections between employers, employees, and community supports through collaboration, shared resources, and best practices.
  • Elevate Achievement – Support organizations in tailoring inclusive solutions that improve productivity, engagement, and employee satisfaction.
