The Sudbury Women’s Centre held the raffle from July 25 to Aug. 5, and the proceeds will allow the centre to purchase much needed items for women in need
The Sudbury Women’s Centre drew winners for a summer FUNdraiser raffle, with two locals taking home the top three prize packages.
Proceeds from the July 25 to August 5 raffle will allow the Sudbury Women’s Centre to purchase much needed hygiene items like shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, and soap for women in need.
“We offer all of our services, programs and basic needs items completely free of charge, and are in constant need of fundraising to keep it that way,” said Chantal Makela, Women’s Centre board chair. “Supporting events like this raffle, ongoing clothing or hygiene donations and monthly giving are the best ways people can help us to help women.”
Raffle winners were drawn on Monday, Aug. 8 at noon, with the drawing posted to the SWC’s Facebook page. found here.
Chad Gauthier took home the top prize of an Expert Grill four-burner barbecue and two Leisure Line Adirondack chairs. Gauthier’s name was also drawn for the third prize of a Bear Kit Muskoka chair and a s’mores roasting set.
The second prize of a camping cook kit, a Zebco rod and reel, a Buff Brand fishing hat and a Rapala fishing t-Shirt went to Jerry Dougherty.
Businesses who contributed prizes include: Today’s Mortgage Choice, Life Zone Coaching and Consulting, Big Bush Company, Ramakko’s, Lowe’s and Present Simple.
“We’re so fortunate to have had wonderful support from local business leaders through the donation of fantastic prizes,” said Chantal Makela, SWC Board Chair. “The generosity of our community to donate items and support us through ticket purchases is truly heart-warming.”
