Sudbury Women’s Centre and Centre Club d’Age d’Or de la Vallée receive new funds

Two Sudbury-area organizations are sharing $95,000 in new funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) Capital grant stream.

The Club d’Age d’Or will use the funds to upgrade their building’s HVAC system. The funds amount to $78,200.

“The Centre Club d’Âge d’Or de la Vallée is grateful to the Ontario government and MPP (Vic) Fedeli for supporting our facility,” said Jeannine Blais, club president. “This funding will allow us to support our community by upgrading our HVAC system ensuring our local francophone members and all members of the community, will be able to continue using our establishment in comfort and security.”

For the Sudbury Women’s Centre, the $16,200 received will be used to soundproof their office and workshop rooms.

“Through the funding from Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) we’ve received for soundproofing for our office and workshop rooms, we’re ensuring our clients receive the confidentiality they truly deserve during their time of need. This investment is a testament to our commitment to their well-being and the safe, nurturing environment we aim to provide,” said Giulia Carpenter, executive director of the Sudbury’s Women’s Centre, in the news release.
