Sudbury Women’s Centre Hands Out $10k In Gift Cards To Families
Funded by the United Way, the grocery gift cards helped 575 people in our community
Through funding provided by United Way Centraide North East Ontario/Nord-est de l’Ontario (UWCNEO), Sudbury Women’s Centre (SWC) has been able to distribute a collective $10,000 in grocery gift cards.
As a result, 200 women were given some much-needed relief during these especially difficult times. Including their family members, the gift cards helped 575 people.
The Sudbury Women’s Centre is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to providing information, referral and support services to women who have been impacted by violence and/or difficult life circumstances. The staff and volunteers at the SWC offer a safe and inclusive space, respecting diversity and supporting women in their journey.
UWCNEO invests in front-line programs and services in communities throughout the North East District.
“The ability to support our community during these trying times is so important, and the Sudbury Women’s Centre remains committed to helping women thrive,” said SWC executive director, Giulia Carpenter. “Our clients continue to seek much needed services and support, and we remain here for them. This has not – and will not – change.”
