Job Description
The Social Media & Fundraising Assistant is responsible for providing support to the development team and participating in all fundraising activities, including assisting in planning and executing fundraising events, donor relations, and direct mailings. Primary duties include working with the development team to finalize the fund development plan, including event planning.
In addition, the Social Media & Fundraising Assistant supports the creation, management, and implementation of social media strategies and assists with all online outreach activities to enhance visibility, engagement, and fundraising effectiveness across digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of social media campaigns & online activities
- Assist with maintaining online tools inclusive but not limited to the organization website, and social media accounts
- Working alongside the development team and assisting to finalize fund development plan including event planning
- Assist with the development and implementation of effective communication strategies that build customer loyalty programs, brand awareness, and customer satisfaction.
- Assisting in the planning and execution of fundraising events
- Assisting in activities related to donor relations
- Assisting in the creation and distribution of direct mailing materials
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
- Self-motivated, flexible, and disciplined team player adept at multi-tasking and prioritizing
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Familiar with Google/Microsoft Office software
- Critical thinker, compassionate, inclusive, and eager to learn
- Passionate about community development
- Reliable and conscientious
