Job Description
The Front Desk and Closet Attendant serves as a proactive, welcoming, and detail-oriented representative of the SWC.
In this role, you are the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and community members, helping to create a warm and supportive environment. You oversee front desk operations, assist with client inquiries, and coordinate the intake, organization, and distribution of donated items. By maintaining an orderly inventory and ensuring a smooth, respectful experience for every person who enters the SWC, this role directly supports our mission of providing accessible and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet clients and visitors with a friendly, empathetic and compassionate demeanor.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and inquiries, providing accurate information and assistance as needed.
- Lift, carry, and sort heavy clothing donations weighing up to 30 pounds each, handling approximately 45-100 daily donations.
- Organize and sort through large boxes of hygiene items such as shampoo, conditioner, and other toiletries.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing donations.
- Organize and restock clothing racks and other items in the closet area.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the closet space at all time
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Physical stamina and willingness to perform various tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
