Job Description

The Communications & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for delivering a strategic and thoughtful approach to marketing, communications, and event planning that reflects the values and mission of the organization. This role focuses on building meaningful connections with our audiences – both internally and externally—through consistent, value-based messaging and intentional engagement strategies.

The Communications & Marketing Coordinator guides the development and implementation of communication materials, branding initiatives, and digital content, ensuring all messaging is accessible, inclusive, and aligned with best practices. In addition to overseeing communications, this role leads the planning, coordination, and execution of events that strengthen community presence, build relationships, and support program goals. Events may include stakeholder meetings, client engagement sessions, outreach events, and public-facing initiatives.

The Communications & Marketing Coordinator collaborates closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure that every communication and event reflects our organizational philosophy and supports our mission of creating thriving, empowered communities, generating activities.

Key Responsibilities include though not limited to:

  • Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies aligned with the Centre’s strategic plan
  • Manage and grow the Centre’s social media presence across platforms
  • Create engaging content (e.g., newsletters, campaigns, website updates, promotional materials)
  • Participate in all aspects of the fundraising cycle, including research, prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Support and promote fundraising campaigns and revenue-generating events, including the annual International Women’s Day Gala
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors to encourage ongoing support and retention
  • Coordinate donor recognition and stewardship activities
  • Plan, promote, and execute events that support fundraising and community engagement goals
  • Represent the Centre at community events, meetings, and outreach opportunities
  • Liaise with partners and coordinate presentations across multi-sector organizations
  • Act as the primary media contact and spokesperson for the Centre.
  • Capture and maintain accurate records of donor and partner relationships in the CRM system

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • University or College diploma/degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Non-profit Management, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, fundraising, or a related role
  • Strong understanding of marketing, branding, and digital communications strategies
  • Experience with social media management, content creation, and analytics tools such as Canva, MailChimp, WordPress, Meta Business Suite, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to support fundraising initiatives and donor engagement
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
  • Proficient in research, data analysis, and reporting
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent public relations and networking abilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate the mission, vision, and values of the organization
