Job Summary
The Sudbury Women’s Centre (SWC) is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing information, referral, and support services to women, girls, and gender-diverse people who have been impacted by violence and/or difficult life circumstances. Our Centre is a place to start to support women, offering key tools and resources that assist in addressing issues of systemic discrimination and violence. Position: Client Support Worker
Wage: $23.33/hour
Hours: 32 hours/week
Contract: Through March 31, 2026, with possible extension

The Sudbury Women’s Centre (SWC) is a community-based nonprofit organization that supports women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals who have experienced violence or other challenging life situations. We offer a range of programs and services that promote safety, healing, connection, and empowerment. Through trauma-informed support, resource navigation, group programming, and community partnerships, we help participants build resilience and reach their goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to clients, including intake, resource navigation, and follow-up
- Facilitate or co-facilitate workshops and group programs in a safe, inclusive environment
- Plan and coordinate small events and program activities
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with companies, organizations, and community groups
- Research and identify new collaboration opportunities to support the organization’s mission
- Serve as a liaison between the organization and external partners to ensure seamless communication and coordination
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for reporting purposes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery
- Participate in community outreach and events as needed
- Attend occasional community meetings as required
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a social service support worker or in a relevant role
- Compassionate, patient, and friendly
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work with diverse and multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and efficient
- Diploma in Social Service Work or a related field required
- Mental Health First Aid an asset
Additional Information
- This position reports to the Program Coordinator
- 32 hours/week, primarily Monday to Thursday, 8:30am-5:00pm, with occasional evenings for programming
- Contract through March 31, 2026, with potential for extension
- Occasional travel within the community may be required; expenses reimbursed per SWC policy
- Facilitation of workshops and programming is a core responsibility of this role
