BOObie Bra Drive supports Sudbury Women’s Centre clients
Initiative also looking for donations of underwear, socks and hygiene products
The Sudbury Women’s Centre (SWC) is once again championing the needs of women, girls and gender-diverse individuals in Greater Sudbury through its annual BOObie Bra Drive.
The centre is aiming to stock its shelves ahead of the winter months, through the collection of new/unopened bras, underwear, socks and hygiene products.
Collection bins are available across the city at the following locations:
Connected Living Yoga and Wellness, 2152 Long Lake Rd.
– Junessence (formerly The Lingerie Shoppe), 1769 Regent St.
– Boudoir by Adriana, 1639 Lasalle Blvd., unit 312
– Witches and Weirdos events, happening Oct. 18 and Oct. 25
– Preloved Consignment Store, 26 Meehan St., unit 1 in Capreol
– Perk and Pine, 221 Regent St.
– La Vie En Rose Outlet, RioCan Centre.
– Round Two Fitness, 1010 Lorne St., unit 103.
– Power Yoga Canada, 1380 Lasalle Blvd.
– La Senza, New Sudbury Shopping Centre.
– House of Bras, 756-A Lasalle Blvd.
– Ramakko’s, 2345 Regent St.
Donations can also be dropped off directly to the SWC, located at 174 Douglas St., suite 201.
The BOObie Bra Drive initiative is more vital than ever as demand for essential items continues to increase, the women’s centre said. From 2024 to 2025, SWC has said it seen an increase in need of more than 200 per cent for basic toiletry items. At the same time, its client base has continued to expand, underscoring the urgent need for support across the community.
“The BOObie Bra Drive plays a vital role in helping the centre keep our closet stocked with essential items our clients rely on most,” Carolyn Dawson, development officer, said in a release. “Hygiene products and undergarments are among the highest in demand, yet they are often the least donated. Access to these basic necessities should never be out of reach — they provide crucial respect and dignity for the individuals we serve.”
The collection will continue to run until Oct. 31; however, SWC does accept donations of these items year-round.
