We are seeking a compassionate and organized Client & Program Support Worker to deliver inclusive, trauma-informed services to women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals in Greater Sudbury and surrounding areas. This position supports the Breaking Down Barriers program, which focuses on addressing systemic and workplace-related challenges faced by women, especially in male-dominated sectors.

About SWC (Sudbury Women’s Centre)

The Sudbury Women’s Centre (SWC) is a community-based nonprofit organization that supports women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals who have experienced violence or other challenging life situations. We offer a range of programs and services that promote safety, healing, connection, and empowerment. Through trauma-informed support, resource navigation, group programming, and community partnerships, we help participants build resilience and reach their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one support to clients, including intake, resource navigation, and follow-up
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate group programs and workshops in a safe, inclusive environment
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with companies, organizations, and community groups.
  • Research and identify new collaboration opportunities to support the organization’s mission.
  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and external partners to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Participate in occasional travel to deliver programming and support services in surrounding communities
  • Assist with program planning, communications, and participant engagement
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for reporting purposes
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery
  • Participate in community outreach and events as needed

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Social Work, Social Services, Psychology or a related field is preferred
  • 1–2 years of experience in client support, community outreach, or program delivery
  • Knowledge of issues affecting women in male-dominated workplaces and/or equity-seeking communities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a trauma-informed approach
  • Proficiency in basic computer tools (Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel as required
  • Crisis intervention or de-escalation training (or willingness to obtain)

Additional Information

  • This position reports to the Program and Operations Manager
  • 32 hours/week, primarily weekdays, with occasional evenings for programming
  • Contract through March 31, 2027 (renewal dependent on funding)
  • This position is funded through the Breaking Down Barriers program
  • This position requires occasional travel to Northern Ontario Communities
  • Mileage and travel-related expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with SWC policy
