Safe Dates is a 6 session program for teens and youth that deals with attitudes and behaviors associated with dating abuse, learning what boundaries are and how to set healthy boundaries, as well as looking at how we treat our partners and how we want to be treated. Each session is about 1.5-2 hours long and is presented over 6 weeks.
This is an interactive program that involves a lot of open discussion, there will also be one or more sessions that will involve parent participation.
Safe Dates program is designed to help our youth learn how to have healthy relationships with their partners and to educate them on the signs of dating abuse. This program is also a tool to help teach our youth to know what to do if they or someone they know is in an abusive relationship and how to safely get out and seek help.
